Inspired by people in their own lives who launched important projects for animals after receiving initial seed funding, The Spark for Animals Fund was cofounded by two long-time animal advocates, Paul Shapiro and Brian Ottens.

There are many ways to help animals that may not be a good fit for the this fund. For example, if you’re seeking funds to help pay for the care of individual animals, this probably isn’t the right fit.

If, however, you’re seeking to start or grow a social media channel to help animals, test an innovation that could reduce animal exploitation, wage a public policy campaign to enact animal-friendly reforms, create animal-friendly literature or film, build a platform for humane ideas, or pursue another society-changing efforts to lessen the suffering humans inflict on animals, this may be the right opportunity for you.

This is only a short list of the kinds of efforts Spark for Animals is built to fund. If you have another idea to build a better world for animals, let us know what you’re thinking. We may be able to provide the spark.
